Hergest Croft Gardens (1 mile, 5 mins), Small Breeds Animal Park Kington (1.5 miles, 5 mins), Hay-on-Wye bookshops (14 miles, 25 mins) and Elan Valley Dams (18 miles, 30 mins) are all worth a visit.
