The location is brilliant. Positioned in deep countryside surrounded by farmland and wooded valleys, you're perfectly placed for exploring both Herefordshire and the Welsh Mountains. The Mortimer and Hereford Trails are right on the doorstep for keen walkers, with a farm walk and waymarked paths besides, while cyclists will love the quiet country lanes. After a day outdoors, nothing beats watching red kites soar overhead while you soak in the hot tub with a favourite drink.

Inside, this shepherd's hut punches well above its weight. The king-size bed (which can be made into twins) is "like sleeping on a cloud" according to reviews. You'll find a fully-equipped kitchen area with electric hob, microwave/combination oven and fridge/freezer. The shower room has powerful water pressure and the woodburner keeps everything toasty when the temperature drops.

Nearby attractions include Croft Castle (15 miles, 25 minutes), The Weir Garden (18 miles, 30 minutes), Ludlow's historic town (15 miles, 25 minutes) and Hay-on-Wye's famous bookshops (20 miles, 35 minutes). There's even a rare breeds farm in Kington worth visiting.

Snug On Lugg is perfect for couples wanting to reconnect without distractions. Guests confirm there's no light pollution here, so the stargazing from the hot tub is superb. Electric vehicle charging onsite is a rare bonus in this remote spot. The worst part? Having to leave.

Emma Roberts
We had a really lovely few days at this charming cabin. The place is well-equipped and super cosy. The views are simply stunningand we were lucky enough to spot some wildlife during our stay. We enjoyed a tasty meal at the Bateman Arms in Shobdon. The kite feeding experience in Rhayader was absolutely magicaland the small rare breeds farm in Kington was a real highlight. The electric charger was faulty, but Julie did her best to help us out. We'll definitely be coming back! Thanks again, Julie xx
Mark
We loved the peaceful spot just a short walk from another shepherd's hut. The EV charger was a real lifesaver since charging options are scarce around here. Perfect base for exploring Herefordshire and south Shropshire. Definitely recommend for a quiet getaway!

The bed was super comfy, which is always a plus. Julie was a lovely host-friendly and available if we needed anything. The location was peaceful and ideal for unwinding. Thanks for a lovely break, we'll definitely come back!

Honestly, we had a really lovely stay at Snugg on a Lugg. We've tried a few of these pod-style stays before, some better than others, but this one definitely stood out. The host was super friendly and quick to answer any questions, which made everything smooth. The place was spotless, brightand everything worked perfectly. We especially appreciated how helpful and polite the host was. It's a shame we had to leave, but we'd definitely come back. Overall, a top-notch experience and well-deserved 5 stars!

Honestly, this Shepherds Hut exceeded all our expectations! It's super cosy and well-equipped, definitely the most comfy one we've stayed in. The views around are just breathtaking - perfect for anyone who loves nature and quiet. We visited on the hottest dayand the owners kindly cooled the hot tub for us, which was a lovely touch. We took a quick trip to Hay on Wye but mostly just relaxed here, soaking up the peace. Can't recommend it enough!

The setting in that field is just stunning-peaceful, fresh air, loads of birdsand amazing sunsets.
